Launched at the 2004 World Congress of Agroforestry in Orlando, Florida, this new volume is a significant contribution to the agroforestry literature. The multi-author papers, reprinted from special issues of Agroforestry Systems, provide an up-to-date review of a wide variety of scientific, economic and social aspects of agroforestry. It uniquely combines papers from both the tropical and temperate zones, addresses topics that have not been previously discussed in agroforestry texts, and includes fresh insights from authors from other disciplines who are new to the field. It is the first title in a new series, Advances in Agroforestry, edited by P.K. Nair at the University of Florida.
